Insight into Industry Trends! Fintech and AI Module Launched in Shenzhen

The "Fintech and Artificial Intelligence" module of the Doctor of Business Administration program at Josai International University was held on December 13–14 at the Digital China International Innovation Center in Shenzhen. Students from Cohort 2 and Cohort 3 participated in the intensive learning sessions.
The teaching team, comprising doctoral supervisors from the school, senior scholars, leading industry experts, and financial specialists, generously shared their expertise through lectures, research discussions, and case studies, striking a balance between theory and practical application.

Mr. Zhong Xiaofeng, Chairman of Amundi Greater China and Vice Chairman of Amundi Asia, delivered a thematic course on "Asset Management and Industry Development Trends." He systematically outlined the core principles, practical challenges, and future directions of the global and Chinese asset management industries.

Mr. Zhong holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Sciences Po, Paris. He joined the Crédit Agricole Group in 1996 and has held key positions, including President of Amundi Bank Beijing Branch (2005–2011) and CEO of Amundi Asset Management North Asia (2012–2020).

Professor Zhu Xiaohuang, Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Mongoose Think Tank, Vice President of the China Behavioral Law Society, and former Supervisory Board Chairman of CITIC Group, delivered a thematic course on "Uncertainty and Modern Financial Risk Management." He offered profound reflections and proposed new directions for the concepts and practices of modern financial risk management.

Professor Zhu has extensive practical experience in finance, having served as Chief Risk Officer and Vice President of China Construction Bank, President of CITIC Bank, and Supervisory Board Chairman of CITIC Group. He is the author of "Principles of Uncertainty Economics" and a leading expert in the field of risk management in China.

Mr. Guo Wei, Doctoral Supervisor of Hong Kong Business School and Chairman of Digital China, delivered a thematic course on "AI for Process: Technological Innovation and Process Reengineering." He explained that the value of artificial intelligence (AI) lies not merely in standalone technological applications but in its ability to integrate deeply into specific business processes. He also introduced a comprehensive methodology for technological evolution and innovation.

Mr. Guo is the founder of Digital China and has received prestigious awards such as the World Economic Forum’s "Chinese Future Economic Leader" and "Top Ten Outstanding Chinese Youths." He has been named three times to the Fortune (Chinese edition) list of "China’s 50 Most Influential Business Leaders." He is the author of works including "The Power of Digitalization" and "The Power of Datafication."

Professor Yang Qiang, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), and Director of the AI Advanced Research Institute at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, delivered a thematic course on "Challenges of Artificial Intelligence and Federated Learning." He discussed the pivotal role of AI in driving enterprise transformation and how innovative applications can break through existing challenges to deliver significant results, offering valuable insights for the industry.

Professor Yang serves as Executive Vice President of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and founding Editor-in-Chief of top international journals "ACM TIST" and "IEEE TRANS on BIG DATA." His research areas include artificial intelligence, machine learning, federated learning, transfer learning, case-based reasoning, and AI planning. He is a pioneer in the research and application of federated learning, transfer learning, and AI planning globally. He is the author of works such as "Transfer Learning," "Federated Learning," and "Privacy Computing."
